End of year office “clean-out”

The Office of Environmental Sustainability together with ITS, Facilities
and Services and supported by OHS, is providing enhanced waste and
recycling services across all Victorian campuses during the first two
weeks of December (1st -12th of December) (akin to your local Council
“hard rubbish” collection).

This will give faculties, departments and individual staff members the
opportunity to clear out all unwanted and surplus goods such as
furniture, IT equipment (e-waste), paper and cardboard, paint, chemicals
and wooden pallets from their areas, and have it disposed of in an
environmentally responsible way.

Whilst the collection date is still some time away, we would encourage
departments to start considering what equipment, furniture etc., they
will no longer require and email environment@adm.monash.edu.au with a
brief item description, number of units and the campus the item is
located at.  This will assist in coordinating the collection and
appropriate disposal of the items.

As well it is important to note that any disposal of equipment,
furniture and other assets must be compliant with university assets

Finally for large or heavy items, please ensure you have considered the
manual handling risks associated with moving objects.  For advice on how
