Hitwise award for my.monash portal

In late February the my.monash portal was the proud recipient of a 2006 Hitwise Online Performance Award in the category of ‘Education – Institutions'. This category includes all educational institutions including universities, schools, kindergartens and TAFE colleges websites. It also encompasses the website of any body dealing with official education administration.

The award for most popular website was measured by traffic volume among Australian internet users in 2006 by Hitwise. According to their website, Hitwise is the world’s leading online measurement company. Obtaining data directly for ISPs, the methodology Hitwise uses (which has been audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers) measures the largest number of websites and local internet users throughout the course of a calendar year.
