TV streaming service to be released

Access to free-to-air Australian channels and free-to-air satellite streams offering foreign language TV and radio channels will soon be available through infrastructure provided by ITS.

The new service solves a problem identified by Monash Residential Services – how to implement TV streaming to students in the Halls of Residence without inserting an antenna socket in every room. The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor International also plans to use the infrastructure to provide international channels to the Halls of Residence and cosmopolitan lounges for international staff.

Foreign language channels will be chosen after consultation with international students in Halls of Residence and based on the demographics of this group.
