Popular wireless workshops to run again

March 8, 2006

ITS Client Services is again offering free wireless workshops for students during the first semester.

The workshops will show students how to register their own laptop to access the Monash Wireless Network. During 2005, 198 students attended a total of 12 workshops.

The workshops will run at Caulfield campus during March, and at Clayton campus from March to May.

Before attending these sessions students will need to:

  • Bring a laptop with a 802.11 compatible wireless/network card. These can be purchased from Monash bookshops.
  • Install the Virtual Private Network (VPN) client on your computer. The VPN connects to the Monash network. It is available on the web or from ITS Service Desks.
  • Have a valid Authcate account, and a Monash ID card.
