Student-type accounts for staff

Staff wishing to obtain student-type Novell and Authcate accounts (for the
purpose of student system testing, for instance) may request to have a student-type account created via the ITS Service Desk request form. Ensure to provide the reason for your request.

Once your new student-type account has been created (eg: jblo1), you will need to visit your Faculty IT support group, or the nearest  ITS Service Desk, in order to obtain a password. As a security measure, any new password provided via the Service Desk will expire after 12 hours. Upon receipt of your new password, you must remember to change it within 12 hours.

Your student-type account will function no different to a normal student account, except that it is attached to your staff ID number (alongside your existing staff account), not a student number.

The account will exist on a student server such as ITS-TSHD-A01 and a password change to your staff account will not affect your student-type account, and vice versa.
