Internet Access authentication
Browser configuration for Mozilla Firefox
The following instructions will allow Monash staff and students to configure
Mozilla Firefox (version 2.x) to use the Monash Internet service. This is required
for external Monash internet access.
Step 1
Start Firefox and click on the Tools menu. Then select Options in the drop-down menu that appears.

Step 2
In the Options window click on the Advanced icon located at the top right.
Then click the Network tab.
Then click on the Settings button.
Step 3
Select Direct connection to the Internet.

Click on the OK button at the bottom of the Connection Settings, and then click OK again on the Options window
to finish.
Step 4
Firefox is now configured to use the Monash Internet Service and will be able to access external web pages provided that a valid username and Authcate password is entered when requested.
When you browse to an external website you will be redirected to authenticate.
