Preparing for lectures and tutorials
Prepare your presentation
| Slideshow presentations |
Avoid putting too much information on one slide - use multiple slides as necessary
Use 5-6 lines per slide
Use 5-6 words per line
Limit font types - no more than 2 different fonts
Use san serif fonts (Calibri, Ariel) rather than serif (Times New Roman)
Use contrasting colours |
| Media |
Decide which media you will use in the learning space (check that the room has the required equipment first):
- Room computer
- Laptop
- USB drive
- DVD
- VHS
- transparencies for overhead projector
Ensure your USB drive is free of viruses. |
Back up
| Presentations |
Have a back up option for your presentation in case your chosen media doesn't work. Some ideas include:
- Attach a copy of your presentation in an email to yourself
- Put a copy on a network drive
- Bring a second USB drive or CD
- Bring a laptop
- Make transparancies for an overhead projector
