  • Use 5-6 lines per slide
  • Use 5-6 words per line
  • Limit font types - no more than 2 different fonts
  • Use san serif fonts (Calibri, Ariel) rather than serif (Times New Roman)
  • Use contrasting colours

  • Decide which media you will use in the learning space (check that the room has the required equipment first):
    • Room computer
    • Laptop
    • USB drive
    • DVD
    • VHS
    • transparencies for overhead projector
  •  Ensure your USB drive is free of viruses.

    Back up

    Presentations
  • Have a back up option for your presentation in case your chosen media doesn't work. Some ideas include:
    • Attach a copy of your presentation in an email to yourself
    • Put a copy on a network drive
    • Bring a second USB drive or CD
    • Bring a laptop
    • Make transparancies for an overhead projector

    Equipment
  • Check whether the equipment you intend to use is installed in the learning space
  • Arrange to hire any required equipment

    • Some features may be lost if the presentation was created in a different version of the software

  • Take note of who to contact for any problems with the AV equipment
