What is this service?

This service is the provision of:
- development of standard operating environments (SOE) for university student laboratory computer workstations
- a standard set of IT services to the student laboratory computer workstations
- UNIX and database technical support for teaching applications
- a server (yoyo) to encourage self-education in the areas of computer programming, web development and system administration.

Who can use it?
|
Students and other authorised users at Monash University. UNIX database and technical support for teaching's end users are also lecturers who teach system architectures, operating systems, programming, database development and related topics to the University students.

How do I get it activated?
|
Any student with an active Monash Authcate account and enrolment automatically has access to the Microsoft Windows SOE. New students can request an account from the computer accounts and passwords page. Access to UNIX/Linux SOE is unit dependent, students should check with their lecturer for more information.

How do I use it once it is activated?
|
To locate a student computing laboratory visit the computer labs page. For more information on using student computing laboratories contact the ITS Service Desk.

This is a centrally funded service.
