Research data storage (LARDS)


What is this service?

This service provides large data storage facilities to store, backup, archive, share and transfer large research datasets to meet the needs of Monash researchers.

Who can use it?

Staff engaged in academic research and authorized higher degree by research (HDR) students.

How do I get it activated?


Request for access to Director, ITS Research Support Services via faculty IT Manager on advice from the faculty Associate Dean Research or delegate such as faculty Academic IT Director.


How do I use it once it is activated?


Contact Director, ITS Research Support Services for advice regarding usage of Large Research Data Store (LARDS) resources.


How much does it cost?

Basic capacity centrally funded. Additional capacity on a fee for service basis.  Details of the funding model for this service are available for the LaRDS funding web page.
