Monash-Conference-Net

Monash-Conference-Net can provide internet access to attendees of conferences held at a Monash University campus, during the time they are at the conference.

Access to this network, must be requested from the Monash University Venues (MUV) at the time of booking a conference venue.

Service provided to conference organisers

  • Equipment configuration and installation
  • Internet access with unlimited download
  • Assistance provided to help users get connected

Restrictions:

  • Two weeks notice required
  • The service is available at Clayton, Caulfield, VCP and City offices only.
  • Conference must be indoors, such as a lecture theatre, conference room or similar
  • Maximum of 50 people able to use the system at any one time

Pricing:

Service provided to conference attendees

  • Assistance connecting laptops to Monash-Conference-Net
  • Access to the internet (for web browsing and email*)
  • Access to public Monash web servers
  • Monash staff and student access to the standard Monash-Wireless-Net service

Restrictions:

  • Conference attendees must provide their own wifi compatible wireless ready laptop
  • ITS Service Desk can provide technical support for laptops running Windows XP
  • No additional software need be installed on the users laptop
  • Service use must comply with the: Terms of Use

*Where the user has an existing email account with web-mail access
