Clever idea - use a non-default browser

One of the differences between the old TelDir and MIDS is that TelDir always ran in its own window. Whereas, other applications have a tendency to "steal" the MIDS browser window and use it for their own purposes to display some other web page. One simple way of avoiding this problem is to use a different browser for MIDS than you use for everything else.

For example, if you normally use Internet Explorer as your MMS email client and as your normal web browser then use the above instructions at (a) to install FireFox as the MIDS browser. This will ensure that nothing else steals the MIDS window and that MIDs is always identified by the distinctive FireFox icon.
