Using your telephone

All PABX features are available from the various types of telephones that are installed as standard throughout the university. Each feature is selected by keying one or more of the R, *, # keys followed by and a single-digit key.

Whenever you are on a call or receiving anything other than a dial tone the "PABX recall" key is always the first key pressed to select a feature. When you press PABX recall the system places your current call on hold and gives you the holding dial tone to indicate that it is ready to accept further keystrokes. Whenever you press the PABX recall key, always be sure to wait until you hear the holding dial tone before continuing.
