CallXpress Voicemail Message Waiting Indicator

The CallXpress Voicemail Message Waiting Indicator application consists of a little icon in the tool bar (shown below) which indicates whether the user has any new VoiceMail messages waiting.

Voicemail indicator

The application is available for installation via the Novell Application Launcher (NAL). This is only available for Win95, Win98 or Win NT systems. There are two methods of installation:

Via the Monash website

  1. Click here to download the voicemail.zip file. Save this file onto your C: drive in a place that you will remember (e.g. c:\temp\voicemail\).
  2. Locate the voicemail.zip file using windows explorer and double click on it. This will launch WinZip.
  3. Extract all files listed to the C: drive in the directory you used in step 1.
  4. Using windows explorer locate the directory you extracted the files into and double click on setup.exe
  5. Installation of the application will require you to restart your PC.

For new installations

  1. Right click on the icon in the system tray and then select Setup.

Voicemail indicator

  1. As above replace the server name with VOICEMAIL.ITS.MONASH.EDU.AU
  2. Enter in the Mailbox Number (above shown as XXXXX) with the extension you wish to use the indicator with.

The initial release of the application may sometimes lose attachment to the Voicemail server, indicated with a red cross through the icon. Re-attachment must be effected via right mouse click on the icon and selection of Attach to CX.
