Host Consolidation and Virtualisation

The Virtualisation and Consolidation report generated in 2007 outlines some specific options for Solaris SPARC servers. This project will further define specific Monash University IT Architecture policies on Host Consolidation and Virtualisation for Solars SPARC servers. These policies will be reviewed within ITS to ensure they meet the needs of services they underpin.

A proof of concept will be created with the aim of proving the consolidation technology and gaining acceptance of the practice for core University systems.
