Learning Management System (MUSO)

Description

Following on two successful pilots in 2004, WebCT Vista was rolled out in S emester One 2005 as a highly available and robust production service; branded as MUSO (Monash University Studies Online) it served over 52,000 unique users with an average of over 1.5 million web pages per day from nearly 2000 active teaching units.

Ongoing enhancements and further integration of the MUSO service with existing Monash systems will continue to deliver significant benefits to the delivery of online learning and teaching in Australia and overseas.

In 2007 WebCT Vista will be upgraded to version 4 to keep the software on a vendor supported version.

WebCT Vista 4 is a substantial redevelopment of the previous version, incorporating many valuable, additional features and modifications requested by Australian universities, including Monash. Ongoing ITS evaluation of WebCT Vista 4 confirms that it is a far superior product to its predecessor in terms of usability and accessibility, ease of use for designers, teachers and students, technical implementation, and provision of additional opportunities for easier integration with existing and future corporate systems.
