MUSO MSA

Description

Online performance issues have been experienced by MUSO users at Monash South Africa. A performance improvement recommendation document was developed, reviewed and accepted by ITS Directors. That document is in the project repository and available from the Project Manager.

This project will follow up on the recommendations in the report and where possible action the recommendations.

The report established a number of short-term quick wins and longer terms action items:

Quick Wins:

1. Store large static learning materials locally.
2. Develop policy regarding expected lead time for transmission of learning material (Defining/Setting user expectations)
3. Purchase network monitoring device and implement.
4. MUSO support and training.

Long Term Strategies

1. Upgrade network border router.
2. Upgrade network capacity.
3. Identify alternative options for on-line education.
4. Clarify Roles and Responsibilities, develop OLA between ITS Network Infrastructure Services and ITS South Africa.

The project will see the above items to logical conclusion and produce a summary report to ITS Directors.
