Video Conferencing Services – Infrastructure Upgrade

This project will put in place the next generation of video conferencing infrastructure for Monash that is flexible and scalable enough to cater for the growing demand.Activities in 2008 include:

• Upgrading to a new and expandable videoconferencing bridge to improve capacity, session security, the quality of images and performance
• Upgrading to high definition cameras in the videoconferencing suites
• Increasing the number of high use meeting/teaching spaces with videoconferencing capability from 2 meeting rooms in 2007 to 7 in 2008 and 10 in 2009
• Adding an additional 10 portable videoconferencing units into an expanded pool for operational and test use (current pool is 5). This will enable organisational areas to determine their own requirements in an informed way.
