Sophos anti-virus upgrade

In early 2007 Monash ITS will be upgrading the existing Windows Sophos anti-virus system from version 4 to version 6. The new version includes:

  • additional features such as detection of adware and spyware
  • an update mechanism better suited to systems at Monash
  • continuing support. After March 2007 the old version of Sophos will no longer be supported.

Once you have upgraded to Sophos version 6, the software will automatically run, scan files when they are accessed, clean any infected items and installs any updates as required.
