New Microsoft product releases
July 2007
In early 2007 Microsoft released major upgrades to Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer. These new versions are expected to progressively become available at Monash from late 2007 and through 2008.
ITS is currently reviewing these software upgrades to ensure that the required security and licensing support systems are in place and that the new products are compatible with University applications such as MUSO and Callista.
Industry analysts such as Gartner, BECTA advise that appropriate testing and planning should be undertaken in any large scale transition from one operating system to the next version.
While testing and planning are being completed, it is recommended that the use of these new products be limited to personal use.
