Novell access via NetStorage

Staff who have accounts on the Monash NetWare 6 staff environment can gain access to their U: and V: drive files remotely (through your own ISP) with NetStorage via any web browser.

This service should not take the place of your normal Novell access when you are connected to the Monash network. It should be used to supplement this access when this normal connection is not available.

Access to NetStorage is operating system independent so whether you are a Windows, Macintosh or Linux user, you will be able to access your NetWare drives. The web interface is accessible to all staff at:

https://netstorage.its.monash.edu.au/NetStorage/

Please note that to login to the system, you will need to use your Novell account name, and your Novell password. In most cases this will be the same as your Authcate username and password. If you are unsure, please contact your local IT support for more information.

Notes

  1. This service is secured through a certificate issued by the Monash Certificate Authority, and may not be automatically recognised by all web browsers. It may be necessary to import the Monash Certificate Authority certificate, as detailed in the document Using Monash certificates with non-supported software.

  2. NetStorage only provides access to the standard U:, V: and T: drives. Staff who access other network drives will not be able to get access to these drives via the NetStorage system.

Further information can be found in the monash-netstorage (pdf, 1M) document.
