Microsoft Software releases

Detailed information on Microsoft Vista operating system

The following table provides details on compatibility of University applications with the Windows Vista operating system.

There are five stages of progress through the matrix.

  • Not supported - This application will not be tested or approved for use with Windows Vista as this product is not supported within the University.
  • Untested - This application is used within the University to a level that warrants its testing under Windows Vista.  Currently this product has not been loaded or tested under Windows Vista by ITS.
  • Loaded - This application has been loaded onto Windows Vista and successfully completed the load process
  • Basic - User and technical support testing has occured for the standard/basic functionality of the product.
  • User acceptance - User testing has occured with 'product specialists' that have a complete understanding of all uses of this software application within Monash.  Where possible this will be a 'champion' or trainer in the software application
  • Supported - All testing at both a user and support level has occured and this product is now available for use within the Microsoft Vista operating system.

Adobe Acrobat reader  The free Acrobat Reader software lets you view and print Adobe PDF files. Version 7.0 of Adobe Acrobat Reader provides features that enable you to:
  • View and print Portable Document Format (PDF) files
  • Submit Adobe PDF forms that are created with fillable form fields in such applications as Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional and Adobe Form Designer
  • Play back a variety of embedded multimedia content, such as QuickTime and MP3 files
  • Activate search and accessibility capabilities built into your PDF files
  • Display Adobe Photoshop Album slide shows and electronic cards
