Software and system specifications
The Monash preferred videoconferencing software is Polycom PVX for Windows XP.
The software includes a license number and is pre-activated. If you are prompted to register or activate the software at any point, please inform your IT support person.
You may contact your departmental or faculty IT support to to assist you with the set up of desktop videoconferencing. If you do not have local IT support, contact your nearest ITS Service Desk.
System requirements
- Operating system - Windows XP SP2 - DirectX 9.0c and Windows Media Player 10
- CPU - P4 2.2GHz / 2200+ Athlon XP and above
- RAM - 512MB
- HDD - 100MB
- Display - SVGA display (800x600) 16-bit color or higher
- Audio - Any sound card or device
- Network - 64Kbps and above (Cable, DSL, or LAN)
Alternative systems
The following installation guides are provided for alternative systems, however this information should be regarded as advice. Monash University is not able to provide further support for any videoconferencing software used on these systems.
