Student email quotaEmaill quota is the amount of space you have been allocated to store your emails. The student email quota limit is 40mb. The contents of all the folders in your student WebMail account is included in the quota usage total. This includes the default folders such as:
The contents of any other folders that you have created or any 'Spam' folders such as Spam-30 are also counted. Please note that there is no limit on the amount of email that you can send through the WebMail or my.monash portal interface (but there is a limit of 5mb on the maximum size of any single email you may send). Exceeding your quota allocationIf you exceed your student email quota allocation, any emails sent to your student email address will be bounced back to the sender with a notice that your account is overquota. The email will not be delivered to your account. The student email server will notify you that your accout is overquota by placing an overquota notification email in your account. This should be the last email that you see (as all future emails whilst you continue to be overquota are not delivered). Students are not eligible to apply for any extra quota. Reducing your quota usageThe quickest method to reduce quota usage is to remove emails from your account that you no longer require and to empty the contents of your 'Trash' folder. It is important to remember that all folders are counted towards your quota total. Checking your quota usageThere are currently two methods to check your student email quota usage. 1. Via the WebMail interfaceThe student WebMail tool provides information on the amount of quota you are currently using along with the amount of quota in use by each individual folder. To access your overall quota usage:
To view the quota usage for each folder:
2. Via the my.monash portal interface
