More email spam filtering13th March 2006 ITS has made several improvements to student email accounts, which will decrease the amount of spam being received and enhance the usability of your account. Spam filtering has been enabled for all student email accounts. Emails with an extremely high spam probability will be discarded prior to delivery or forwarding. (This will not affect student email accounts that forward email to external accounts). Emails that are discarded are not retrievable. Those spam emails that are not discarded will be delivered by default to a folder called "Spam-30" in your email account. Spam emails in this folder that are older then 30 days will be deleted automatically. The reduction of spam will help students to keep their email accounts under their email quota. Students can change or disable the spam filtering settings if they choose by visiting the spam filtering web pages. For additional information visit the spam filtering website. |
