Monash Dial-up Service

Monash University offers a dial-up service for

  • staff
  • postgraduate students
  • students with disabilities

to connect to the internet from their home and other external locations.

New user

If you are a postgraduate student or a student with a disability and have not registered for a previous Monash Dial-up service, complete a 'Request for Computer Access' form and submit it to your local IT support person, or nearest ITS Service Desk should your Faculty /Department not have a local IT support person. You will need a modem and access to an internet browser. Then follow these steps:

  1. Creating a dial-up connection - Windows XP
  2. Setting up Microsoft Internet Explorer proxy
  3. Download and install VPN software
  4. Using this new service

Existing user

If you are a postgraduate student or a student with a disability and have previously registered for a Monash Dial-up service and your registration is current then your access has been automatically granted. To access the service complete steps 1 – 4 above.
