Microsoft Internet Explorer proxy setup

The following instructions explain how to configure Microsoft Internet Explorer to use the Monash Proxy Servers. This is required for external Monash internet access.

Step 1

Start Internet Explorer and click on the 'Tools' Tab located near the top left corner of the browser window. Then select 'Internet Options' in the drop-down menu that appears.

Step 2

In the 'Internet Options' window click on the 'Connections' tab located near the top of this window. From there click on the 'Settings’ button, next to the `MonashDial’ entry.

Step 3

Ensure that the 'Use automatic configuration script' box is ticked.
In the white 'Address' text box type:
http://www.monash.edu.au/proxy.pac
and click on the 'OK' Button.

Click on the 'OK' button at the bottom of the 'Internet Options' window to finish. The Internet Explorer is now configured to use the Monash Proxy Services and will be able to access external web pages provided that a valid Username and Authcate password is entered when requested.
