Monash dial-up service for students
Monash University offers an account which allows you to connect to most
of the university electronic services from your home, work and other external
locations. The Monash dial-up service allows you to access the library
catalogue, course material, faculty websites and other important Monash
sites.
The service does NOT provide a connection to the internet unless you
are eligible for an account with full internet access. Off-campus
learning students, postgraduate research students and students who have a disability
are eligible to apply for an account with full internet access. If you
do not meet this criterion, you will need to have an account with an ISP
to access the internet remotely.
To access Monash modem services from off campus, you need:
- An account. To access the dial-up service you need to complete an 'Application
for a Monash dial-up service' form. Your completed form can be submitted
to your nearest ITS ServiceDesk .
- A modem, and the correct settings on your remote PC (e.g.: home PC)
for connecting to the Monash modems.
- An internet browser to access Monash services.
Please note: Internet Explorer
is the standard browser used at Monash.
