How to install Monash-Connect for Pocket PC (Windows Mobile)

Prerequisites

Before installing the Monash-Connect client, please ensure that the synchronisation between your PDA and PC is working correctly.

Download the file below on your PC/Laptop (Not your PDA).

• securew2-ppc2003-312.exe

Installing the Monash-Connect client

1. Synchronise your PDA to your PC.
2. Download and run the above client installation file on your PC/Laptop (Not your PDA).
3. Click the Next button on the Welcome screen.
4. Read the License Agreement and click the I Agree button to continue.



5. Click the Install button.




6. Click OK to finish PC setup.
7. Look on your PDA and select Yes to install the cab file
   (If prompted for select location options when installing the cab file, please choose to install on Device)



8. Select ok to finish

Configuring Monash-Connect

1. Select Start then Settings then Connections then Wi-Fi Utilities then Search for Networks
2. Select and hold Monash-Connect until the next screen appears



3. Select Monash-Connect
4. Select The Internet for Connects to:
5. Select Network Key and leave the settings as WPA and TKIP.



6. Select 802.1x and make sure Use IEEE 802.1x network access control box is ticked



7. Select SecureW2 for EAP type:
8. Select New and enter in the name field Monash-Connect
9. Select Connection and remove the tick on the box Use alternate outer identity



10. Select Certificates and remove the tick on the box Verify server certificates



11. Select Authentication and ensure PAP is selected for Select Authentication Method:



12. Select User Account and remove the tick on the box Prompt user for credentials
13. Insert your Monash Authcate user name (it should be similar to jbloggs).
14. Insert your Monash Authcate password in the password field
15. Select OK then OK then OK to finish

Connecting to Monash-Connect

1. Select Start then Settings then Connections then Wi-Fi Utilities then Search for Networks
2. Select and hold Monash-Connect and then select Connect
3. Launch your Pocket PC Internet Explorer and insert http://my.monash.edu.au into the address field. You should see the page load successfully.
